What keyword research delivers for you
Keyword research is an analysis of the search terms your potential customers use to find your service. From that we filter the terms that are worth money for your business.
We look at search volume, competition and above all at the intent behind the search. That way you know which pages you need, which words belong in them and where you have the best chance of reaching the top.
The research is the starting point of every SEO approach. Without good research you write pages nobody searches for, or you compete on words that only attract the curious.
- Insight into how your customers search
- The right words for your copy
- A strong basis for Google Ads

Search volume is not everything
A keyword with many searches is not automatically a good keyword. We weigh four things.
Search intent
Is someone looking for information, comparing providers or do they want a quote now? That last group takes priority.
Search volume
How often a term is searched per month. In a region these are often small numbers with a large value per job.
Competition
How strong the sites at the top now are. From that follows how much work a top position costs.
Service area
Which places and neighbourhoods are within your reach and where your jobs deliver the most.
An installer in the Nijmegen region
Say you install heat pumps and central heating boilers in the Nijmegen region. On national terms like “heat pump” you compete with manufacturers and comparison sites. You do not win there, and those visitors often are not yet looking for an installer.
Terms like “central heating installer Nijmegen” or “have a heat pump installed Beuningen” are smaller, but the searcher is ready to request a quote. With a good page you have a real chance there.
We also include questions like “what does a heat pump cost”. You answer those in a knowledge article or FAQ, which AI assistants like to cite. That way you catch people who are orienting and lead them to your quote page. Read more about search intent.

Setting goals
Together we decide what it is about: new pages, better rankings for existing pages or a basis for ads.
Topics and list
We map the topics around your services and, among other things with SEMrush, make a list of keywords.
Analysis
For each keyword we look at volume, intent and difficulty. Keywords with a lot of value and achievable competition take priority.
Reviewing competition
We analyse who is at the top now and what their pages do well or badly. That tells us how to approach your copy.
Plan per page
Every keyword gets a fixed place on your site. That way your own pages do not compete with each other.
What you get from us
Not a thick report that disappears into a drawer, but a plan we get straight to work with.
- Keywords sorted by buying intent
- For each keyword the page where it belongs
- Opportunities per place in your service area
- Keywords and exclusions for Google Ads
- Questions customers ask, for FAQ and AI answers
- A baseline of your current rankings
One research for SEO and Google Ads
We use the same research for your Google Ads. Keywords with high buying intent and a lot of competition are often put into ads first, while your SEO pages build up.
Words that do not bring jobs, such as “job vacancy” or “DIY”, we exclude in your campaigns. That way you do not pay for clicks from people who never become customers.
Because we measure every enquiry down to the quote, after a few months we see which keywords really bring jobs. We adjust your SEO and ads accordingly.

What is keyword research?
Keyword research is an analysis of the search terms your customers use to find your service. For each term you see how often it is searched, how tough the competition is and what the searcher wants. It is the basis for your SEO copy and your Google Ads.
Why not simply choose the keywords with the highest volume?
Words with a lot of volume are often generic and attract people who are only orienting. A smaller term with a place name in it, such as “have a dormer installed” plus your region, more often brings in an enquiry. We choose on value per search, not on numbers.
How often does keyword research need to be redone?
The big research is done at the start. After that we look every month in Search Console at which new search terms appear. That way we supplement the plan without starting over each time.
Do I need local keywords if I have no shop?
Yes. Even without a shop, customers search for your service together with their place of residence. Local keywords and a well-maintained Google Business Profile make sure you are found in your own service area.
Do you also use the research for AI assistants?
Yes. In the research we also collect the questions customers ask. We answer those briefly and clearly on your site, so AI assistants such as ChatGPT can cite you.
