GEO: get named by AI
GEO, short for Generative Engine Optimization, makes ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI name your business when someone looks for a tradesperson in your area. We build it on your SEO foundation and measure what it brings in as enquiries.

100+ businesses and growing

GEO, Generative Engine Optimization, makes ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI name your business when someone looks for a tradesperson in your area. Marketingkenners makes your site clear, factual and technically sound for that, checks your business details, and measures whether you get named and whether that brings in enquiries. A place in AI answers cannot be guaranteed.
With SEO you win a position, with GEO a sentence
More and more people ask ChatGPT, Perplexity or Google AI which roofer, installer or contractor they should call. The answer is not a list of links, but a written text with a few company names in it.
GEO is the work that makes sure your name is in that text. That only works if the AI understands your business, your details are right everywhere and your site gives answers it can reuse. It builds on SEO, and does not replace it.
- Get named when someone looks for a tradesperson
- On top of an SEO foundation that is right
- Measured down to the enquiry

Six parts of GEO
Answer first
Every important page starts with a short, factual conclusion of two to three sentences. That is the part an AI takes over.
Questions as headings
Headings like ‘What does a new roof cost?’ match how customers ask questions, and so how an AI searches.
Details that are right everywhere
Name, address, phone number, service area and services are the same on your site, in your Google Business Profile and in your schema markup.
Structured data
Code that tells machines who you are, what you do and which questions you answer. That is part of technical SEO.
Letting AI crawlers in
We check whether GPTBot, PerplexityBot, Google-Extended and other crawlers may read your site, and we set up an llms.txt.
Proof that can be checked
Numbers, years, place names and reviews make a passage usable. Vague claims are skipped.
Being visible is not the same as being visited
For questions an AI can answer itself, the click disappears. On our own knowledge base pages we see top-three positions with a click-through of less than 1 percent. The visibility is there, the visitor is not.
That changes what you measure. A mention in an answer counts, even if nobody clicks straight through. The people who do come often already have a preference. That is why we look at enquiries and not just visitors.

Signs your site is not yet ready for AI searchers
- You ask ChatGPT for a tradesperson in your area and you are not named
- Your business details differ per site or platform
- Your pages start with filler instead of the answer
- You do not know whether AI crawlers may read your site
- You see no visits from chatgpt.com or perplexity.ai in Google Analytics
- Your competitor does get named
Baseline
We ask ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI the questions your customers ask and note who gets named. That is your starting point.
Foundation in order
We check technology, structured data, robots.txt and your business details, and fix what stands in the AI's way.
Rewriting pages
Services, places and frequently asked questions get an answer up front, concrete facts and headings in your customer's language.
Measuring and adjusting
We repeat the baseline with the same questions, follow visits from AI assistants and adjust based on what brings in enquiries.
What GEO is and is not
GEO is not a trick and nobody can promise you a place in an AI answer. The systems choose their own sources and change often. What we can do is improve your chances by making your site clear, factual and technically sound.
That is why GEO is part of the Growth System, alongside SEO, Google Ads and your Google Business Profile. If your foundation is not in order, you will not get into AI answers either. Read more in our knowledge base about GEO and llms.txt.

What is GEO?
GEO stands for Generative Engine Optimization. It means making your website suitable to be named in answers from AI systems such as ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews. Where SEO aims for a position in a list of links, GEO aims for a mention in a written answer.
Is GEO the same as SEO?
No, but they sit close together. GEO is largely good SEO, applied more strictly: a clear structure, factual language, sound technology and consistent data. That is why GEO with us always starts with a check of your SEO foundation.
Can you guarantee I will be named in ChatGPT?
No, nobody can honestly promise that. AI systems choose their own sources. What you can do is improve your chances by making your site clear, factual and technically sound, and then measure whether you get named.
How do you measure GEO?
We ask the same questions to ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI before and after the changes and note whether your business is named. In Google Analytics we follow visits from chatgpt.com and perplexity.ai. What matters most is still: does it bring in enquiries?
Which businesses is GEO worth it for?
Mainly for trade businesses with jobs from 2,000 euros, such as roofers, installers and contractors, where customers first want to know who they can trust. If you run a webshop with small orders, it is less of a fit for us.
Do you get named in AI answers?
In 30 minutes a specialist asks ChatGPT and Google AI your customers' questions and shows you who gets named. Free, by video.
